ONE QUESTION

What should the next generation of golf look like?

Redefining golf by giving every golfer the freedom to move and play at their own pace. Building a new golf culture where we move faster, play slower, and put the golfer back at the center of the game.

Career

Former CEO of Callaway Golf Korea with decades of leadership experience in the golf industry.

Why MATE Mobility?

It started with a simple question:
“Why is golf still so inefficient?”

Golf is fundamentally an individual sport. Every golfer has their own ball, their own decisions, and their own rhythm. Yet the traditional cart experience often works against that. Golfers share a ride, wait for one another, move from ball to ball, and then rush when it is finally their turn to play. Eugene Lee saw this not simply as a cart problem, but as an opportunity to rethink the way golf itself is played.

His answer was simple: One golfer. One cart. Direct access to the fairway.

Why One-Seater?

Because sharing a cart means sharing someone else’s route.

Traditional multi-passenger carts naturally create unnecessary stops, detours, and waiting. A personal cart allows each golfer to move directly to their own ball and maintain their own rhythm throughout the round. For golf courses, this model also opens the possibility of more efficient course operations and a fundamentally different player experience. SINGLE was created around this idea—not simply as a smaller golf cart, but as a new mobility model designed around the individual golfer.

His Philosophy

Move Faster. Play Slower.

Golfers should spend less time getting to their ball—and more time thinking about the shot. Today, it often feels like the opposite:
slow movement, rushed play.

SINGLE is designed to restore that balance. By giving each golfer independent mobility, MATE Mobility aims to create a game with less waiting, fewer unnecessary movements, and more time to focus on what actually matters: the golf itself.

At Mate Mobility

As Founder & CEO, Sanghyun Lee leads MATE Mobility with a vision that goes beyond building vehicles. Drawing on decades of experience in the golf industry, he is building SINGLE as a platform for a new way of playing golf—one centered on individual freedom, better course operations, and the golfer’s own rhythm.
